CLAY 2018: Thunder Bay

It’s Beach Day!

Saturday is Beach Day! At 4:15 PM, we’ll be loading the buses in Parking Lot A and travelling to Greenwich Beach! For a list of bus assignments, please see this document:¬†Bus Assignments For Beach Event

Bring: sunscreen, a hat, a filled water bottle, a towel, and your bathing suit! And don’t forget long pants, a sweater, and a flashlight for sunset worship!

A BBQ supper (with a vegetarian option) will be provided, but you may want to bring a few snacks Рthere is nowhere to buy food or drinks on site!  Drinking water is available at the interpretive centre and the beach building.

If you want to explore the park, there is a 1.5 hour trail walk – just be on the trailhead by 6:15 PM so you get back before dark!

Parks Canada lifeguards will be supervising a designated swimming area (marked with buoys). You can swim in the unguarded area (at your own risk), but please do not go past chest level.
Finally, remember to leave the beach exactly how you found it. Don’t walk on the dunes or on the grass, as the sand dune ecosystem is extremely delicate. Just stepping on the grass will kill it! All sea shells and rocks are the property of Parks Canada, so please do not remove them from the site.
